About Nigel Gilbert
I am an award-winning illustrator/artist with works on display at the National Maritime Museum, Swansea and at the World Heritage Site, Conwy Quay. I have received two Awards for Excellence from the American Society of Architectural Illustration
I have exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours show, Mall Gallery, the Anise Gallery, London, the Oriel Ynyws Mon, Llangefni, the Royal Cambrian Academy , Conwy and Osaka Japan.
Originally an architect, I taught studio design at the Liverpool University School of Architecture for 10 years followed by a shorter stay at the Manchester School. Encouraged by the celebrated critic and author Martin Pawley, this career phase culminated in a series of self-illustrated essays in the international journal 'World Architecture'. Designing the children's hospice, 'Ty Gobaith', in the Conwy valley, and drawing for the highly successful interactive displays at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea are also 'standout' work from that time
The works shown here on the website are available for sale both as originals and as prints. To find out more about buying these, discussing commissions, or any other issue please feel free to contact me. I like to think that I am always prepared to 'bring something to the table'.
